For twenty-two years, Mark was an internationally recognized civil trial lawyer, founder and managing partner of a national litigation boutique firm. He is a former Assistant United States Attorney (Civil Division) and earned two Department of Justice awards in recognition of his meritorious service. After serving as the youngest partner in one of the nation’s first national law firms, he founded and was the managing partner of Mark A. Cohen & Associates, P.A., a highly successful litigation firm. Mark personally represented more than 50 of the Fortune 500 companies, as well as 5 foreign sovereign nations. He tried 57 major civil cases during his career and was lead counsel in 12 class action lawsuits.

Mark was appointed Receiver of a large, international aviation parts business. He ran the company, personally oversaw litigation around the world, and repatriated more than $50MM of assets. He also served as outside general counsel to 3 insurance companies and as national supervising counsel to several other major corporations.

Since leaving the active practice of law, Mark has sat on several corporate Boards and has spent the past 18 months creating QUALITAS.

He is active in a number of civic and philanthropic interests, serving on the Board of The Washington Ballet and The Corcoran College of Art and Design, as Trustee of a charitable Foundation he helped to create, and as a Founder of Mt. Sinai Hospital, Miami Beach, Florida.

Mark is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Vassar College, the institution’s first Rhodes Scholar Nominee. He earned 3 postgraduate degrees from Oxford University as well as a J.D. degree from the University of Connecticut.

Ron has a broad background in general management, consulting and corporate governance. In addition to his role with Qualitas, Ron is President of W.M. Putnam Company, an outsourcing company that assists major companies with a variety of premises management requirements involving their U.S. branch or sales office facilities.

Previously, Ron founded a consulting company focused on a wide range of business strategy, customer contact, channel management, and risk management issues in the financial services arena. He is also a founding partner of a midwestern venture management & advisory firm. He has served as a CEO of three major financial services companies, including Anthem Financial and American Savings Bank of New York. Ron started his career at Citibank where he moved through several senior assignments to become SVP & Division Executive in charge of Citibank’s operations in the Caribbean and northern South America.

Ron has deep experience in developing appropriate corporate governance and methodologies in risk management. Ron is Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee of a major financial services company. He also serves on the boards of three private companies, and two major civic organizations.

He holds an MBA degree from Stanford University.

Mark brings to Qualitas KM 20 years of experience architecting technology solutions solving challenging business issues across various industries including legal, financial, and healthcare and for companies like Motorola, 3M, Emerson, Intel, Wells Fargo, Cargill, plus many small to mid-size companies.

Most recently, Mark has served as Vice President of Consulting for Scandent Solutions, showing companies how to leverage their investments in technology and utilize various delivery models (onsite, offsite, near shore, off shore) to deliver enterprise wide technology based solutions.

For 8 years, Mark worked for Oracle Corporation’s consulting division. Mark was a Senior Director of Consulting responsible for building and managing a 100+ person consulting organization focused on the deployment of Oracle’s enterprise application products. Mark also served as Senior Director of Operations, managing the internal operations for the Central United States consulting group of 500+ consultants.

Mark has extensive experience across technology platforms, infrastructures, package software, and custom developed applications, giving him the unique ability to architect and construct the right combination hardware, software, and services to solve any business issue.

Mark holds a B.S. degree in Computer Science from Iowa State University and an MBA in Information Management and Marketing from the College of St. Thomas.

He is active in a number of civic and charitable functions, most notably Children’s Heart Link, and has served on an advisory council helping local colleges define and manage their technology curriculums.

Anne Mehringer

Anne is an attorney and IT expert who joins Qualitas with more than 30 years experience in information management. She has spent 20 years specializing in the management of litigation information. Most recently, she served for 15 years as Manager of Litigation Support for Jones Day, one of the nation’s largest law firms. She oversaw their operations in 29 offices around the nation and abroad.

Anne has extensive experience with database design, data extraction, process control, and e-discovery. She has consulted with lawyers to design unique processes and systems to meet the needs of specific large cases and has worked with litigation teams to enhance their abilities to utilize automated tools during the discovery process and at trial.

Anne has an A.B. from Vassar College and a J.D. from Georgetown University

Michael J. Tonkin

Michael brings to Qualitas over 15 years of international experience in the private and public sectors, having engaged in merger and acquisition, partnership and alliance, consulting, sales, and operational capacities. He has extensive consulting experience in architecting, sourcing, deploying, and supporting global technology solutions.

Michael also serves as Vice President of Global Alliances for an international, broad-based technology firm. Prior to this position, he successfully launched international go-to-market strategies for a healthcare provider consulting division, and a market leading knowledge management company, resulting in multiple international clients.

Michael began his career in consulting and technology with Activant / Triad Systems Corporations, where he held a variety of sales and management positions.

Michael received his B.S. in Business Administration from Edinboro University, Edinboro, Pennsylvania.
